Niche Academy

Niche Academy is an online professional development tool used by many libraries throughout the United States. As I was developing the presentations that were going to consist of our collection, I came across some bumps in the functionality. I worked very closely with the Niche Academy team and they were very excited to work with me on improving their user experience. Here you will find some mockups of the suggestions I made for them to help improve their functionality and make it look a little cleaner also.

LibGuide Updates

One of my early projects with DDL, updating the LibGuide (library resources) to look like a more modern site. The guide is not a very user friendly platform and the controls are very limited. However, if you look at the file below I managed to get the guide up to speed. I also designed banners for each of the major guides.

Professional Development Videos

There are a lot of older folks working for DDL and they have not really had much training in the software. The PowerPoint Basics presentations were meant to cover basic functionality, how to draw shapes and reformat them, and text adjustments. I showed them how to set up master pages & styles, and did a screen recording & voiceover. I edited it in Adobe Premier and the Audio in Adobe Audition.

The video below was created to guide the library staff on how to design flyers for their various needs. This one is less interactive and mainly a powerpoint with a voiceover. This covered elements & principles of design, basic layouts and such.
